Empowering the Next Generation of Legal Professionals
Introduction
Over the years, the legal profession has been distinguished by traits such as integrity, justice, and intellectual depth. It draws the interest of young people who would like to serve the society with dignity. The changeover from law school to the workplace, however, can be difficult with no proper guidance and limited exposure. To address this talent gap in our community.
The community has produced many legal luminaries, such as Magistrate Krishnarao Dhurandhar and Barrister M. R. Jayakar, in the past. The brothers, Rajan and Mohan Jayakar; Mrs. Netra Vijayakar (solicitor); Mrs. Lata Sudhir Desai; and, of course, her daughter and our trustee, Dr. Pallavi Desai Divekar.
To carry this tradition forward, Pathare Prabhu Charities, in collaboration with Messrs. Divekar and Co., is pleased to announce a new three-month Internship Program for Pathare Prabhu students of Law College.
Together with Pathare Prabhu Charities, this initiative will create new pathways for law students in our community.
Objective of the Program
The Divekar and Co. Internship Program aims to provide a systematic, supervised, and meaningful value-added internship for law students of the Pathare Prabhu community.
This initiative aims to achieve the blend of academic knowledge with practical experience in the field. In addition to imparting core values of the legal profession, it will teach proper professional etiquette.
It is expected to:
• Familiarize students with the applied aspects of law
• Assist them in understanding legal systems and court operations
• Instill professionalism, discipline, and a sense of ethical duty
• Enhance their self-esteem and provide supportive networks as they embark on career journeys
The program focuses on building a foundational network and support for students while encouraging professionalism. This internship integrates all aspects of law, with a focus on the foundational principles with which every legal career should begin.
